Is the Media Biased?

During this election period, I was proud that I watched all types of media for the election. Notably watching CNN and Fox for the so-called polar opposite views. What I found was that they are closer than what people say but yes, biased for two different sides. One angry and mad at the president the other praising him. Watching these two news channels each night helped me break down biased media and really see how it may change the way I think about politics. I would like to share my findings with you guys and share my opinion on the biased media shown on Fox news. Now Fox News is a great source of media for many facts and daily information on the website but watching it live showed me many indications that it is biased just like CNN.

While watching Fox news they began talking about how Trump looks amazing in Pennsylvania because of his support for the coal miners. Taking on this very segregated subject about how coal mining is a good energy product or not, they just outright support the president and the coal miners. Not thinking that many people believe the opposite and almost just shutting them down if they say otherwise. The word choice or tone during my time watching was very persuasive. The news anchors were very confident did not speak to slow or fast. They got to the point and say what they believe is right which is very persuasive, When they spoke I found myself nodding my head because of their confidence.

Another way they were biased is when the news anchor heard that Trump won a state he said “Let's put on television whenever Trump wins a state because that is just great”, “ let’s just up the Numbers!”. Saying the news this way is just gushing with biased news towards Trump. These quotes just prove my point that during this election Fox news is very much so biased towards Trump. When people listen to this type of media all day they will only believe in one side.

For all who consume media for anything check. Check and actually listen to what they are saying. See if they are biased and make sure you form your own opinion rather than just believing in what you hear on the news. Listening to a news source that is biassed towards one side makes a toxic relationship for America. Making the U.S take steps back rather than forward. We must understand that many of the news sources we listen to are most likely biased in one way or another. If we take strides in making sure they are not, we will become closer to one another.
